Upcoming Conferences:

FELASA CONGRESS 2016
June 13-16, 2016
Brussels, Belgium
Stand #: G005

The FELASA organization: FELASA, the Federation of Laboratory Animal Science Associations, represents common interests in the furtherance of all aspects of laboratory animal science (LAS) in Europe and beyond. Membership is open to LAS associations of nations of Europe.

The FELASA Congress 2016 brings together laboratory animal professionals from across Europe to share knowledge about best practices and emerging science. FELASA 2016 will focus on several streams, including model validation, comparative medicine, animal welfare, risk management, ethics and oversight.

Taconic is excited to participate in the FELASA Congress 2016, and will contribute to the educational tracks. Dr. Randi Lundberg, a veterinarian and industrial PhD candidate working with Taconic, will present on "The immune response of mice with a human gut microbiota." This cutting edge microbiome science compares the intestinal immune response of B6 mice colonizes with either murine or humine microbiota. Dr. Ana Perez, Taconic's Global Director of Genetics, will lead a workshop on genetic quality in GEM models.

Taconic representatives look forward to engaging with attendees on topics relevant to the industry, including changing animal health standards and optimal model selection.

World Preclinical Congress
June 14-17, 2016
Boston, MA
Booth #: 400
The World Preclinical Congress (WPC) is a key networking event for those involved in preclinical research. It features conferences, training seminars and short courses that cover the very latest in preclinical strategies and technologies, to enable better and faster decisions in drug discovery.

WPC attracts a diverse, global audience, which include experts, as well as people who are new and eager to contribute to the field. Having chemists, biologists, pharmacologists, toxicologists, screening and formulation experts in attendance, creates an interesting cross-disciplinary environment for tackling challenges and sharing expertise.

Dr. Michael Seiler, Portfolio Director at Taconic Biosciences will present on "Precision research models of human immune system and metabolic function: Applications in oncology drug discovery". His presentation will cover the development of animal models to mimic human immune responses which are crucial to study the pathophysiology of cancer.

He will focus on:
  • Current state of immune system engraftment models
  • The next generation huNOG-EXL which extends the mechanistic functionality of current systems
  • Recent advances in immuno-oncology applications with immune system engrafted mice
Taconic representatives look forward to engaging with attendees on topics relevant to the industry, including precision research models used in immuno-oncology research.
