The FELASA organization: FELASA, the Federation of Laboratory Animal Science Associations, represents common interests in the furtherance of all aspects of laboratory animal science (LAS) in Europe and beyond. Membership is open to LAS associations of nations of Europe.
The FELASA Congress 2016 brings together laboratory animal professionals from across Europe to share knowledge about best practices and emerging science. FELASA 2016 will focus on several streams, including model validation, comparative medicine, animal welfare, risk management, ethics and oversight.
Taconic is excited to participate in the FELASA Congress 2016, and will contribute to the educational tracks. Dr. Randi Lundberg, a veterinarian and industrial PhD candidate working with Taconic, will present on "The immune response of mice with a human gut microbiota." This cutting edge microbiome science compares the intestinal immune response of B6 mice colonizes with either murine or humine microbiota. Dr. Ana Perez, Taconic's Global Director of Genetics, will lead a workshop on genetic quality in GEM models.
